April 28, 2002: Are You Smart?

Hi,

Sometime last year, I really got into the TV game show, "The Mole".
Lately, I've been watching "Survivor" and "The Amazing Race 2". When I was
young, I read "Around the World in 80 Days". As an adult, I flew around
the world in 30 days. In the last few episodes, the teams had to race from
Bangkok to Chiang Mai, and then to Hong Kong, and then to Australia. I
think it would be really fun be try to race around the world, see new
places, complete tasks and try to travel quickly without speaking all the
various languages.

Do you think you would enjoy being a contestant on "Amazing Race"?

It's been a while since I recommended a movie. I watched "The Road Home",
directed by Zhang Yimou, starring Zhang Ziyi. I think it's quite good.
You really get a good idea about what life is like in rural China.

This week's thought provoking question: "If you could recover one thing
you've lost in your lifetime, what would you wish to find?"

This week's humor was forwarded from Kelly Chu. It's pretty long, so I
won't have an inspirational piece this week.

Think about it...How can you overtake the person coming last? If you're
behind them then they can't be last. The answer is impossible!! It would
appear that thinking is not one of your strong points.

take any notes or use a calculator, and remember your replies must be
instantaneous. Take heart!!

3 : Take 1000.
Add 40.
Add another 1000.
Add 30.
1000 again.
Plus 20.
Plus 1000.
And plus 10.

What is the total?
